The questions for a wedding photographer are really on the agenda: having doubts and perplexities for this very important day is a normal and legitimate thing. On the other hand my boys are getting married – almost all – for the first time, and consequently it is impossible to know everything about marriage, in particular about photo and / or video services.

I have gathered in this article many of the questions that I am asked every day, so that they can serve as a guide for my future spouses!

So, let’s start with the questions!

1. But how does a wedding photo shoot work?

Hard question. As far as I’m concerned, every service is different because every spouse is different. There are shy brides who prefer to avoid dressing, like spouses who want to have a photographer for the duration of the party. It depends on you! ( continue )

2. What is a second photographer for? Is it included in the price?

One of the classic questions for a wedding photographer is just this.

A second photographer is always very useful: they are two more eyes, another perspective, a similar style but never identical, and why not, a valid help in case of emergency.

3. I am looking for a photographer who also makes videos.

Yes, often a photographer can also make videos, and a videomaker also takes photos. But definitely not at the same time. To have a good final result it is unthinkable that at the same time (or a few seconds later) a person can do both.

4. Isn’t it better to see the reception venue in advance? So you already know where to go?

Yes and no. Yes in the photo, because obviously it is always better to know what to expect, whether a rustic farmhouse or a luxury hotel on the beach. Excellent even in the case of very large or particular locations. But no, it is not better to visit it in advance because it is often useless.

5. Question for a wedding photographer: is the album included in the cost of the service?

It depends from professional to professional, but often the album is not included. This is because it has such a variable price that it is very difficult to establish a fixed amount. The total price of your album will in fact depend on the type you have chosen, the materials, the number of pages, the type of paper, the size.

6. What would a pre-wedding service or engagement service be? What is it for?

It is simply a couple photo shoot lasting an hour, an hour and a half, which is increasingly requested. This has the function of getting the couple accustomed to the camera: in this way the wedding day will be much easier for you, but not only!

7. How do payments work? Do you need an expense reimbursement?

This is also one of the most common questions for a wedding photographer and the answer is: it depends from professional to professional. There are those who divide it into two installments, some into three. I personally divide the payment into three: a deposit, another part before the wedding, and the rest upon delivery of the box.

8. After what time will the photos be delivered? And how does it happen?

A wedding is a long event to organize, right? In the same way, being able to do a good job in the “after” is not an immediate thing. A good result requires a lot of attention.

9. Does the photographer keep a backup of the photos? How long?

Yes, the photographer always keeps at least one backup of the photos for a minimum of six months, but this is often referred to as several years. This is for the spouses, (who may lose the key given to them) but also for himself, to be able to publish them, use them on the site and advertise. In any case, it will be the responsibility of the spouses to check the correct functioning of the key and make a backup of the photos.
