Liz & David’s wedding was especially dear to me…

“A few years ago” Liz and I went to high school together, and by the beauty of Facebook we recently got in touch.  Their wedding was very sentimental for me.  To see someone you shared your growing up years with so immensely happy, is so good for the heart.  I have the best job ever, watching people begin their lives together on one of the happiest days of their lives.

Thank you Liz & David for allowing me to document your wedding- David, you are so perfect for Liz!  I loved how you looked at each other- you have something truly beautiful.  I read this quote in a book this week and thought of you…

“Be not dishearten’d, affection shall solve the problems of freedom yet,
Those who love each other shall become invincible…”  -Walt Whitman

All the best, lovebirds…

xo, J

A big thank you to my second shooter Amanda who grabbed some great photojournalistic shots like the first one…

Megan & David’s wedding day came & I couldn’t be more excited.  Not only did I have the opportunity to photograph her & David, but her Mom, Dad, Brother & soon to be Sister-in-law in Seattle.  (Click HERE to see them)  It was so fun coming to the wedding already having built a friendship with their sweet family!

The day was beautiful with the sun out and brimming with anticipation.  My friend Kip came out & shot with me for the day and we thoroughly enjoyed David & Megan’s laid back vibe & homage to their Scottish heritage and Megan’s love for all things French.  I was floored when they told me that they had chiseled out a second photo time with them after the ceremony.  Brides, take note!  We were able to shoot at the Edmonds waterfront after the wedding…sooo pretty.

David & Megan, I love following your tweets & hearing all about your European honeymoon & Maui reception (yes, a bit jealous too!)  And when you adopt those kittens, I will be there to document it ;)

Thank you to Mr. Kiptastic…here’s one of my favorites that he took:

The next three are Kip again…

Kim and Nico met me on one of the rare sunny & dry spring days we’ve had recently.  What a treat to photograph just mom & son…the session was Kim’s mother’s day present.  It was the most perfect, fun & relaxing session & I loved every minute with these two!  At the end of our time, I couldn’t help but tear up a bit when they were reading together.  Those moments are so real and tender- those times together just hanging out are what it’s all about to so many moms.  I just loved it.

Thank you  Kim & Nico for spending the evening with me & allowing me to document this fleeting window of time…and big congrats to Nico, the little track superstar!
